As an award winning travel writer, I have been asked again and again, "where are the best hotels?" or "what do you recommend?" before settling on a travel plan or destination. Without bragging (too much!) if there is a there, I have been there!  As a member of the Society of American Travel Writers, and as one of the co-founders of the Travel Media Association of Canada, I have been traveling this globe, and writing about it, for far longer than I would care to admit!Why hoard my knowledge? I asked myself. So I decided to share my adventures. How? By writing a regular newsletter, my offering to you.  Many agents are self declared travel professional but often have never been to your choice of destinations. So how would they know the variety and choices available other than the same brochures that you can get. You'll discover that I adore traveling, solo or with a group. New experiences are my credo. Perhaps my tips and suggestions will make your wish to travel more enticing and with a "come hither" appeal. That all said, I have two main websites for you to visit, and I hope you add them to your favourites. The first is WWW.INDULGEDTRAVELER.COM, a luxury travel/lifestyle magazine for affluent Boomers. It's a big wide wonderful world out there, and I hope I can show you around even if you sit in your armchair! | ITC Maurya Hotel and Ava Gardner. A lost tryst by Barbara Kingstone The late gorgeous, late actress, Ava Gardner and I have little in common but she did love eating. However, dear Ava never had the sensational opportunity to stay and eat at ITC Maurya Hotel, in Delhi, INDIA On my flight to India, long and at times tedious, I had to see what my writing competitors were up to so I looked through British Airways in-flight magazine. Ava Gardner, for those old enough to recall this 'dame', was always my favorite female star. She was bold and as far as I was concerned, the most beautiful woman then and still none can compare. And she had talent and lived her life her way with and without Frank (Sinatra). What got my eye was a photo of her bewitching beauty which appeared next to a small paragraph. The question that was asked, obviously years before she went to actor heaven, was what would she request for a last meal. No surprised, this broad's choice was a flute of champagne in one hand and a cigarette in the other. | India is incredible.
