Nothing stopped when I fractured my ankle. . . except traveling.

Although I’m getting ready to continue with my writing my traveling, I have embarked on a new journey.

After being to India over a dozen times, I have linked up with one of the largest travel and tour companies in India. Their headquarter is in Delhi and they have offices throughout the sub-continent to assist.

I represent the company in North America by setting up itineraries, staying within the budget, make theme destinations--Indian food and cooking classes, villages where they weave the silk that are bright and luxurious, yoga in the country where is was founded, trekking and Jewish India. Yes, you’re right. What does this have to do with India?

Everything, since although there isn't a large Jewish community, they have retained and kept up the synagogues and they are scattered throughout this huge country and should be seen for historic reasons.

I have traveled the entire country and know it well. So, read below and also think India as the “Next Stop.” and forget about "Delhi belly." Just know where you eat. In the decades that I’ve been going, I’ve always be well always exhilarated, enthusiastic and my love for adventure keeps on giving.

I love India.

I love India. Not the poverty, that’s for sure, but the colour, the sensory overload, history, temples, glitzy hotels, heritage hotels ( let’s call the decor ‘shabby chic’), but nevertheless, wonderful), so I’ve been here and there, north south, east and west.

The idea was to create ‘bespoke’ ( another work for custom-made) itineraries. With my knowledge and activities for those who have the penchant for sightseeing, trekking, the local eating places and the elite restaurants, and never having Delhi Belly, shopping galore, art galleries, ethnic prayer halls, temples and all the monumental sites. I’ve done it all.

The BIG idea!

My idea was to set up a concierge travel service and have my Indian friend who is the proprietor of a large travel company located in Delhi, to assist. And assist he did. My first clients (and there have been many since), were pleased.

The must-have in India…Patience. I learned this quickly. Then most importantly, adjusting to the traffic juggernauts, the cacophony of the constant honking of horns, the chaos of thousands of people on the streets where elbows come in handy. Probably the most important part of enjoying the sub continent is learning patience.

I so enjoyed sharing ‘my take’. I’ve written about exotic locations for years, and you can find them at WWW.INDULGEDTRAVLER.COM. That’s where you can find all where all my India based articles are posted. Just go to Asia/India since this vast country needs its own column.

I so enjoyed sharing ‘my take’ Although , that said,.I still enjoy writing and will continue when able for WWW.INDULGEDTRAVLER.COM. That’s where you can find all where all my India based articles are posted. Just go to Asia/India since this vast country needs its own column.

  • Rajasthan and their mirrored fabrics and their gems,
  • Mumbai and the renowned Taj Hotel and ocean and the Dhobi Ghats, Dabba Wallas, the extraordinary train staton.. so much more,
  • Then there’s Jew Town in Cochin, where you can see the ancient synagogue - with no definite mandate in the architecture but has many Moorish influences.
  • Darjeeling and the famed heritage Windamere Hotel where returning guests is all over the average. Having tea served on a silver plater by a white gloved waiter, while the sun warms, starring, unbelieving that I am in the Himalayas.
  • Delhi where colours are as prevalent as the gold bangles and Henna hands and manages to provide a sophisticated ambience plus the fine architecture of the Parliament Houses and more.
  • Udaipur and the glorious Lake Palace Hotel in the middle of a man-made lake…the former summer residence of the then Raj.
  • Always more… the fabled Toy Train, Chennai, Kolkata to Bangalore, Shimla, etc., etc., etc.

Let's talk!

I know India well and love that country, warts and all and I want to share. What’s the fun of traveling if you can’t share the wonderful experiences and also the not so wonderful shades of a country.

I’m at BK@BARBARA3.COM and we could accomplish and see the wonders of this diversified country.

Amazing and incredible India.
